BoPin 550 Mould-Resistant Sanitary Silicone Sealant

BoPin 550 is a single-component, neutral-cure, medium-modulus silicone sealant specifically formulated for kitchen and bathroom sealing applications. It incorporates a high-molecular-weight modified base material and a proprietary long-lasting anti-mould formula that provides sustained protection against mould and bacterial growth in permanently wet and humid environments. The non-corrosive cure chemistry makes it safe for use on coated glass, ceramic, marble, granite and metal fixtures without risk of staining or surface damage. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications, it requires no primer on most common sanitary substrates and delivers durable, watertight seals that maintain their integrity and appearance over extended periods in wet areas.

Chuẩn bị bề mặt — Remove all old sealant, soap residue, grease and moisture from surfaces. Surfaces must be completely dry before application — allow at least 24 hours after last water contact.
Ứng dụng — Cut cartridge tip at 45°, load into sealant gun and apply with steady, even pressure. Tool immediately using a wet spatula or sealant finishing tool for a smooth, concave finish.
Curing — Allow to cure at room temperature with adequate ventilation. Avoid water contact for at least 24 hours after application. Full mechanical properties and mould resistance develop after 7 days.
Cleanup — Remove uncured sealant with a solvent. Cured sealant must be removed mechanically.

Limitations

Not suitable for structural load-bearing applications
Not suitable for continuous full water immersion
Not suitable for use in fully enclosed, unventilated spaces
Not suitable for surfaces containing plasticiser or solvent residues
Keep away from children
Do not apply when substrate temperature is below 5°C or above 40°C

Mẹo

Thorough surface preparation is the single most important factor in achieving a long-lasting, mould-free seal — any moisture, soap residue or old sealant will shorten joint life
Apply masking tape along both sides of the joint before application for clean, professional lines — remove immediately after tooling before skin forms
In high-humidity climates (tropical, subtropical), ensure adequate bathroom ventilation after installation to extend mould-free service life
Store cartridges upright in a cool, dry location away from heat and direct sunlight
