BoPin 1010 Prefab & Green Building Sealant

BoPin 1010 is a single-component, moisture-curing MS polymer sealant specifically formulated for prefabricated building joint sealing and general construction bonding and sealing applications. Based on modified silane polymer technology, it cures at room temperature to form an exceptionally soft, highly elastic rubber with outstanding elongation of 515% — one of the highest in the MS polymer range. The very low Shore A hardness of 22 makes it particularly well suited to large panel-to-panel joints in prefabricated and modular construction systems, where differential structural movement between building elements demands a sealant that absorbs displacement without transmitting stress to the substrate. Zero sag ensures reliable application on vertical facade joints without movement or slumping. Also suitable for general construction bonding of concrete, stone, glass, aluminium and timber.

  • Préparation de la surface — Ensure all surfaces are clean, dry and free from dust, grease, old sealant residues and loose material. For concrete and masonry surfaces, remove any laitance or loose particles by mechanical means.
  • Application — Cut cartridge tip at 45°, load into sealant gun and apply with steady, even pressure into the joint. Tool within the working time using a spatula dampened with soapy water. Apply masking tape for clean joint lines on finished surfaces.
  • durcissement — Allow to cure at room temperature with adequate ventilation. Full mechanical properties develop after 7 days.
  • Cleanup — Remove uncured product with a suitable solvent before skin formation. Cured product must be removed mechanically.
Limites
  • Not suitable for structural load-bearing applications
  • Non recommandé pour une immersion continue dans l'eau
  • Not suitable for PE, PP or PTFE surfaces
  • Not suitable for surfaces containing plasticiser or solvent residues
  • Do not apply when substrate temperature is below 4°C or above 40°C
Conseils
  • The very low Shore A hardness (22) means this product has lower tensile strength (0.95 MPa) than harder MS grades — it is designed for high-movement joint sealing, not high-load structural bonding; for structural panel bonding use BoPin 850
  • The zero-sag formula performs well on vertical facade joints — no backing rod support required for shallow joints
  • In prefabricated building applications, ensure joint width is designed to accommodate the full anticipated differential movement between panels — joint width should be calculated based on panel dimensions and thermal movement coefficients
  • Always conduct a compatibility and adhesion test on actual project substrate combinations before full application
  • Store cartridges upright in a cool, dry location away from heat and direct sunlight
