BoPin 260 All-Weather Window & Door MS Sealant

BoPin 260 is a single-component, moisture-curing MS polymer sealant specifically formulated for window and door perimeter sealing and general indoor and outdoor joint sealing applications. Based on modified silane polymer technology, it cures at room temperature to form a durable, flexible rubber with excellent adhesion to aluminium, glass, concrete and masonry — typically without primer. Unlike silicone-based window sealants, the MS polymer formula is paintable after cure, can be applied to slightly damp surfaces, and produces no corrosive byproducts during cure. Suitable for both interior and exterior applications across a wide temperature range, making it a versatile choice for professional window and door installers working across varied climate conditions.

  • Préparation de la surface — Ensure all surfaces are clean and free from dust, grease and old sealant residues. Can be applied to slightly damp surfaces — avoid application during active rain or when surfaces are wet with standing water.
  • Application — Cut cartridge tip at 45°, load into sealant gun and apply with steady, even pressure into the joint. Tool within 15 minutes using a spatula dampened with soapy water. Apply masking tape for clean joint lines.
  • durcissement — Allow to cure at room temperature with adequate ventilation. Full mechanical properties develop after 7 days. Paint only after full cure.
  • Cleanup — Remove uncured product with a suitable solvent before skin formation. Cured product must be removed mechanically.
Limites
  • Not suitable for PE, PP or PTFE surfaces
  • Ne convient pas aux applications de vitrage structurel
  • Non recommandé pour une immersion continue dans l'eau
  • Not suitable for surfaces containing plasticiser or solvent residues
  • Not suitable for direct application to glass surfaces under direct UV exposure — use BoPin 220 silicone for glass-to-glass or UV-exposed glazing applications
  • Do not apply when substrate temperature is below 4°C or above 40°C
Conseils
  • The key advantage of 260 over silicone alternatives is paintability — specify this product when the joint will be painted over as part of the finished decoration
  • In tropical and high-humidity climates, the ability to apply to slightly damp surfaces reduces installation downtime after rain
  • Not suitable for UV-exposed glass surfaces — for glass-to-glass or glass-to-frame sealing where UV exposure is a factor, use BoPin 220 silicone instead
  • Store cartridges upright in a cool, dry location away from heat and direct sunlight
