BoPin 240 is a single-component, moisture-curing polyurethane expanding foam sealant in a 750ml aerosol can. It expands on contact with atmospheric moisture to fill gaps and voids, curing into a rigid, closed-cell foam with excellent thermal insulation, acoustic damping and moisture resistance properties. The standard-expansion formula is well suited to general construction gap filling, door frame installation, pipe penetration sealing and building maintenance work where precise low-pressure application is not required. Its economy positioning makes it an accessible choice for contractors and maintenance teams working on general projects.

Preparation — Shake can vigorously for 30 seconds before use. Lightly dampen the substrate with water to accelerate cure. Ensure adequate ventilation.
Aplicación — Attach applicator straw or foam gun. Hold can inverted and apply foam to fill approximately 50% of the gap — foam will expand to fill the remainder. Work from the back of the gap towards the front.
Curación — Allow to cure fully before trimming. Tack-free in 8–15 minutes. Trim excess foam with a sharp knife after 30–60 minutes. Full cure in 12–24 hours.
Finishing — Cured foam can be painted or plastered over after full cure.

Limitaciones

Must be applied in well-ventilated areas — wear protective gloves and safety glasses during application
Do not use near open flames or ignition sources — contents are flammable before cure
Do not use on polystyrene foam insulation boards — foam solvents may cause damage
Cured foam is strongly alkaline — avoid contact with clothing during application
Do not store cans inverted or on their side
Do not incinerate or puncture used cans
Not suitable for fire-rated penetration sealing — use BoPin 730 for fire-rated applications
Not suitable for movement joints or structural applications
Standard expansion formula not recommended for sensitive aluminium window frames — use BoPin 270 Low-Expansion Foam instead

Consejos

For best yield, warm the can to 20–25°C before use — cold cans produce less foam output
Partially used cans can be stored with the straw attached if the valve is kept clean — use within a short period after opening
Foam expands significantly — apply conservatively and allow expansion before adding more
UV exposure will cause yellowing and surface degradation of uncovered foam — always cover with paint, plaster or sealant in exposed locations
