Surface Preparation:

  • Surfaces must be clean, dry, and free from dust, grease, and old sealant residues
  • For metals, cleaning with acetone or alcohol is recommended
  • Ensure surface is completely dry before application

 

Application Method:

  • Cut cartridge tip at desired angle and diameter
  • Apply with even pressure, ensuring complete joint filling
  • Tool immediately (within 5 minutes) if necessary
  • For best results in high-temperature applications, allow to fully cure at room temperature before exposing to heat

 

Joint Design:

  • For high-temperature applications, design joint width to account for thermal expansion
  • Use mineral wool or ceramic fiber backing material for high-temperature applications
  • Minimum joint width: 6mm
  • Maximum joint width: 25mm
  • Optimal width-to-depth ratio: 2:1

Limitation

  • Not suitable for continuous immersion in water or permanently wet areas
  • May not adhere well to alkaline surfaces like concrete without primer
  • Not recommended for oxygen systems due to potential oxidation
  • Contains acetic acid during curing; may corrode sensitive metals
  • Not suitable for PE, PP, Teflon, and bituminous surfaces

Application

  • For best results, allow sealant to cure completely at room temperature before exposing to high heat
  • In extreme temperature applications, gradual initial heating is recommended
  • For optimal adhesion to metals, light abrasion followed by solvent cleaning can improve results
  • Acetoxy formula releases acetic acid during curing – ensure adequate ventilation
  • Red color provides visual confirmation in heating system applications
